Fear, we all have them. As human beings, we are prone to feel emotions and fear is one of them. Now the problem with most businessmen is that fear causes them to become paralyzed. Instead of doing something about their fears they nurture it and let it grow until it gets the best of them. I have a few questions that I would like you to answer.

  • What usually happens when you’re fearful?
  • What do you do when you feel fear?
  • What are the actions you take when fear takes over you?

Whenever fear gets inside your head my suggestion is you immediately take action. Don’t let the fear linger for so long because the more you nurse it the bigger it will be and the harder it is for you to quell it. There are different root causes of fear.

In business, entrepreneurs fear a lot of things. Examples of these common fears are the following:

  • Fear of the unknown
  • Fear of failing
  • Fear of being overwhelmed
  • Fear of not being good enough
  • Fear of losing money

I am not saying that you shouldn’t feel fear, we’re not robots after all.  As a matter of fact, a bit of fear is actually healthy for you in a sense that it motivates you to do something about whatever is bothering you.  What makes it dangerous is when you don’t take action and allow your fear to grow exponentially. If you are uncertain you can always start with the first step in conquering your fear and then once that’s been dealt with go further to the next step until you completely overcome your fear.

Risks are always going to be there from the start of your business; during the growth stage and even if you’ve already established your business. If success is what you’re after then you have to prepare yourself for these risks and with every risk comes fear. I want you to know that one of the most important contributions you can do for your business is to control your fear because once you know how to do that you will be unstoppable.

I want to close my message by saying that in business, you have to learn how to be fearless. You have to be prepared mentally, emotionally, psychologically and physically and you have to learn from your fears and find ways to work past them. Don’t avoid your fears. Face them head one, embrace them, learn from them and use them to motivate you to work harder than ever before towards success.
