Is starting a coaching business hard? I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you, starting a coaching business or any business for that matter is not a walk in the park. There are certain phases that you must first go through before you can reach the pinnacle of your career. If you’ve been wanting to coach and have been thinking about it more often, I want to share with you how you can start your coaching business.
Firstly, you need to do a course. Even if a lot of people compliment you for your wisdom or that you are wise beyond your years, don’t think for one second that your inherent acumen is enough to make you a coach. While it’s true that it takes wisdom to be a good coach, you need more than that. You need to do a course and learn how to structure your coaching session. Coaching is not a talkfest as one would think. In my three-day coaching workshop here on the Gold Coast called Grow Your Coaching Biz workshop, I offer a course where there’s an accreditation where you are recognised for your coaching expertise and you are taught how to create a real system or structure that gets you the results you are aiming for.
Secondly, set your niche. Define the people whom you want to help. Who are they? Are they going to be women? Men? Business people? Old? Young? Do they live in your area or across the world? It is important that you set your niche so you can streamline your modules to the kind of people you want to help.
Then design your coaching system. Your coaching system is the backbone of your business. It has to be designed correctly for it to work. Figure out what you want so you can create a coaching system that will suit your lifestyle. How often do you want to meet with your clients? What are you going to talk about in those coaching sessions? What are you going to do in between sessions?
Next, promote yourself as a coach particularly if you’re changing careers. Promote yourself in any means possible. You may have been coaching for a while but there are some people who still see you as the hairdresser or the plumber or the bookkeeper or whatever you were doing previously. Let it be known to everyone you know and even to strangers that you are a coach.
Lastly, practice, practice, practice! Always make sure that you are practicing. In my Discovery Session, I teach my clients how to get information from their coaching clients so they can serve them best during their time together. Practice how you promote yourself now as a coach.
If you are wanting to know more, I would love to offer you a 30 minute FREE Discovery Session with me personally. I will guarantee that after our 30 minutes together you will know what your next step will be in your life or in your business.
