It’s the month of July, which means we’re already halfway through the calendar year. How has the first half of your year been? Were you able to accomplish the goals you’ve set at the very start of 2017? In as much as we’d want to have them completed and declare a successful first half, most of the time this isn’t the case.

If you are already halfway through the year but you still haven’t got halfway through your goals I want you to know that there are still a few months left for you to redeem yourself and make things right. This is what I want to share with you today. Today I want to share with you four things that will conclude a successful year for your life and your business.

Firstly, evaluate your goals. Go back to the goals you made at the start of the year and analyse them. Perhaps one of the reasons why you failed to achieve them was because they were so huge and you didn’t chunk them down into reasonable, feasible and doable goals. My advice is you break them down into actionable goals; goals that you can do daily, weekly and monthly. Failing to chunk them down could be one of the reasons why you’re not getting any closer.

Secondly, reset your goals. After analysing your goals and realising that it’s just impossible to achieve it, don’t get discouraged. You always have the option to start over and reset it into goals that are more realistic. Put those goals aside because obviously there were setbacks and issues around them. Instead of getting stuck and getting frustrated in the same old cycle that isn’t getting you anywhere, why don’t you set some real, achievable goals. It’s never too late to change them and you still have the second half of the year to make things right.

Thirdly, don’t be harsh on yourself. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is to love your self no matter what. Sure, you made some mistakes that might have led you to fail in some areas of your business, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be stuck in a rut forever. If you think that the first half of the year is a failure, strive to still maintain a positive attitude because I’m sure there has been some stuff that you’ve really achieved. Don’t mope instead use it as a motivation to do better.

The last thing I want to share with you is to take action. Taking action means, assuming you’ve already set realistic goals for the next three months or so, what are the actions that you need to achieve those goals? One example is by seeking help from people who have already achieved what you want to achieve such as a mentor or a business coach. These people have the expertise to help you find ways to be successful.

These are the four things I want to share with you about what to do when you’re halfway through.
